Kriti Sanon in ANDREW KWON at the 2025 Elle India Beauty Awards

Mumbai, India – October 17, 2025 – At the 2025 ELLE India Beauty Awards in Mumbai, acclaimed actress Kriti Sanon captivated the evening wearing a couture gown by ANDREW KWON, styled by Sukriti Grover. This signifies ANDREW KWON’s growing popularity in the Indian market, and increased prevalence in the Bollywood community

The look — a highlight from Collection 7: prelude no. 1 — embodies the poetic balance of strength and serenity that defines the designer’s aesthetic. Inspired by Kwon’s Korean heritage, the gown evokes the essence of a wildflower in bloom — a motif deeply personal to Kwon, symbolizing resilience, beauty, and self-discovery.

Created in a whispering lilac-lavender silk chiffon, specially spun to achieve a subtle, luminous sheen, the gown reveals cascades that flow from every angle, formed through all-bias couture hand draping — a signature Kwon technique performed entirely within the ANDREW KWON Atelier in New York City. The piece required over 240 hours of hand draping and stitching and utilized more than 50 yards of silk chiffon, each fold meticulously shaped and secured by hand.

“I’ve always been inspired by Kriti — her journey, her artistry, and the grace she brings to everything she does,” adds Andrew Kwon. “She is someone I’ve long dreamt of dressing. I’ve been deeply moved by the world of Bollywood and the beauty of India, and I’m so proud that Kriti is the first Indian actress to wear ANDREW KWON. This moment feels incredibly special, and I look forward to continuing to celebrate and support her.”

This look, which debuted as the fourth piece in Collection 7, was conceived during Kwon’s tenure as a finalist for the CFDA x Genesis House AAPI Design and Innovation Grant Fund (2024). The collection marked an evolution of his signature style — mysterious yet luminous, modern yet timeless, a vision of American couture that feels both intimate and inspiring.

Ethereal yet grounded, the gown embodies Kwon’s central philosophy: that couture should feel like a quiet moment of transformation — a butterfly lifting off from a wildflower, luminous and unbound.
